It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Fiona Houghton to the role of General Manager of the Club. Fiona brings a wide range of business experience to the position and is looking forward to getting to know our Members and the workings of the Club as a priority. I also wish to take this opportunity to publicly thank Mark Willson for his time as General Manager over the last 8 years or so. During his tenure at the Club, Mark has driven many important initiatives that have delivered greater benefits and value to our Members, not least of which are the multi-year memberships and Skiffies Parties on the lower deck. There is no question that the Club finds itself in a healthy financial position today, because of Mark’s efforts over the years. Despite vacating the G.M role Mark will continue to be heavily involved at the Club as both a director and skiff sailor. The Board and staff wish Mark all the very best for whatever adventures lie ahead and he will be greatly missed by all the Skiffies team.
Mark is currently undertaking a hand over to ensure a smooth transition for Fiona into the G.M’s role.
